Transform Your Name into a Verb
You'll hear a lot of three-letter acronyms (TLAs) when you start a new position at a company. You’ll also hear the same two or three people’s names pop up time and again when there's a need for a specific skill. “Oh, yeah, we need to check with Stephen on this,” or “Cynthia will have the answer to that”. Why is this? Because they’ve built a great reputation and set themselves up as an expert in their particular area.
“Every now and then, people’s names will transform into a verb. What verb would your name be?”
Every now and then, these same people’s names will transform into a verb. Similar to how Google’s search engine turned into, “Yeah, you just need to Google that”. Certain people’s names become synonymous with a positive characteristic strongly tied to their identity or what they stand for. For example, “Yeah, we need to perform a Cynthia on this” might be said if Cynthia is known for explaining complicated things very clearly. Or, “We need to do a Stephen on that,” if Stephen is known for asking boundless questions to get to the bottom of something.
So, what would you be known for if someone needed to perform a <insert your name here> on something?
